Pacific Rim National Park
Pacific Rim National Park is one of the jewels of the west coast, stretching from rugged seashore and relentless surf into Vancouver Island’s lush rain forests.
The park is made up of three “units“ — Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands and the West Coast Trail.
- Long Beach is easily accessible and spans the area between Tofino and Ucluelet on Vancouver Island’s west coast.
- The Broken Group Islands include over 100 islands and islets in Barkley Sound — a breathtaking area — and are only accessible by boat.
- The 75 km (45 mi) West Coast Trail takes hikers along the shoreline and through the rain forests of the west coast from Port Renfrew to Bamfield.

Wickaninnish Interpretive Centre
During your visit to the Wickaninnish Restaurant, take a trip next door to the Wickaninnish Interpretive Centre. The centre, run by Parks Canada, focuses on the natural and cultural heritage of Pacific Rim National Park and hosts intepretive talks, films and other events from March to October.

Vancouver Island Fishing
Fishing on Vancouver Island’s west coast is action packed from April to September as Canadian Princess Resort boats cruise the waters of the Pacific Ocean targeting salmon, halibut and a variety of bottom fish.
Experienced skippers and deckhands pilot the resort’s deep-sea cruisers, taking up to 22 people to where the fish are biting. A variety of fishing trips are available for all styles of angler. Salmon and halibut trips depart daily from the resort in the mornings and afternoons and bottom fishing trips are offered in the afternoon.

Wild Pacific Trail
The Wild Pacific Trail is a breathtaking walk along cliffs overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Islands.
The raised trail follows the rugged coast, taking you above the relentless surf of the Pacific Ocean.
The trail begins in Ucluelet and continues on to Big Beach and beyond — 8 ½ km in total.
